What Kind of Church
is Community Baptist?
We believe that Community Baptist Church
has something special to offer to the people of Dunedin. When you
visit us, you will find:
A Christ-Honouring
Church
We emphasize a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His
preeminence in all things.
A Bible-Believing
Church
We love the Word of God and believe in the literal interpretation of the
Bible. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and
practice. It should be studied, memorized, and most of all, practiced.
Further we believe that the King James Bible, which is translated from the
Hebrew Masoretic and Greek Received Text, is the preserved Word of God in
English and we reject all modern translations because they are based upon
corrupt ancient manuscripts.
An Independent
Church
Like thousands of other Fundamental Independent Baptist churches across the
world we follow the New Testament example of the early church and are not
formally associated with any denominational organization. Our church governs
itself solely under the authority the New Testament. We fellowship with
other churches of like faith.
A Separated
Church
We believe that God's people should live
godly lives separated from sin and
doctrinal error. We believe that personal separation from worldliness
is vital for a truly dedicated Christian walk.
Because of worldiness and doctrinal errors,
we do not associate with the World Council of Churches, the National Council
of Churches, the Charismatic Movement or any other apostate group.
An Evangelistic Church
We practice our Lord's command to preach the Gospel to every person, both
locally and abroad through our missions program, urging people to believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal Savior.
An Edifying Church
Our ministry is centered in teaching the whole counsel of the Word of God
effectively and pointing men to God's Truth and thereby strengthening
believers in their daily Christian life.
A Family Church
We are a family oriented church and
believe that the Christian home is the strength of the local church and our
nation.
Why not come and see for
yourself!
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and
ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake" ( 2 Corinthians 4:5)
